This is an ingenious way to repurpose mousetraps! Use them to hold your keys, receipts, concert tickets, photos, coupons, or grocery list! With magnets on the back, these clever conTRAPions (pun VERY much intended) could easily be mounted on most metallic surfaces (think the front door, file cabinet, or refrigerator) and can be removed with ease! For non-magnetic surfaces, they could be mounted using removable velcro strips. These would be great on for kids’ rooms: place on their door or door frame and have an easy place to post chore lists where they won’t “conveniently” disappear or go unseen.

I’ve fallen into the world of paper crafts and I can’t get out! It all started with the Adventure Time guys I found and I just keep clicking links and finding even more cool stuff to make. I’ve been doing this for 2 days now! I mean, if they weren’t made so well, I wouldn’t care but look at this Ghostbuster’s building. At the bottom of the page there’s links to other Ghostbuster stuff too.
I found 3 different Canon cameras to fold and print too! They’re like a million pages and I have no idea how I’m going to resist printing them out and making lifelike paper dSLRs.
I’m never going to have ink again.

16ZINE SPOTLIGHT: Inked by Liz Mayorga
YEAR: 2012
AUTHOR: Liz Mayorga is a writer / illustrator from Southeast LA. She grew up watching old, Black and White, Mexican films and selling burritos with her family. The films were her inspiration. The tacos and burritos paid for college. She used to work with teenagers, and they taught her what it means to be brave. Their energy and fearlessness inspired her to write and draw for herself, but she ends up creating for them too.
Liz is now an MFA Writing Student at CCA, where she writes both fiction and nonfiction, milks the Illustration department for all they’re worth, and experiences an existential crisis every day. Despite the hard work and many sleepless nights, she is extremely grateful to read, write, and draw. She thanks you for your support.
ZINE DESCRIPTION: “This is my latest work. In this zine, two perspectives braided into a personal essay about my family in rural Mexico’s reaction to my visible tattoo. This zine is hard to summarize because it is rich with cultural observations. I tried to juxtapose two very different perspectives, and at the same time tried to show my own stance on tattoos (and life). I included illustrations to go along with my prose. My drawings give this zine more of a children’s book feel, which balances the tone of my voice.”

POC Zine Project 2012 tour update: Pittsburgh x2! »
6Community:
We recently updated our original tour date announcement. To recap, here are the latest changes:
Oct 2 Bloomington, IN (NOT in IL as previously noted)
Oct 4 Pittsburgh, PA (NOT in Blacksburg, VA as previously noted)
That’s right - we’ll be in Pittsburgh on both September 26 (DIY evening show) and October 4 (university event). We will not be in Blacksburg, VA during this first tour.
We will be collaborating with folks in VA on an event to take place sometime next year, so stay tuned for that.
The other tour dates are looking solid so this will (probably) be the last city/date change. We want to be as transparent as possible through this tour planning process.
Thank you for understanding that planning an all volunteer tour of this magnitude is pretty ambitious and we have to adapt (quickly) as factors change <3
We’ll have details for each city in the coming weeks, but until then, here’s how you can help us make this 12 city tour happen:
WAYS YOU CAN HELP NOW
1. CONTACT US and let us know if you’re interested in volunteering, have a band and want to perform, want to table, can help out with hosting us overnight, can assist with livetweeting and livestreaming from events, etc.
2. DONATE to help us offset the cost of this tour, vehicle rental and gas money. We appreciate every cent. POC Zine Project is 100% a volunteer entity.
3. We want folks to table and to sell/trade poc zines at our shows! Very soon we’ll share more details but for now contact us if you’re interested in participating.
4. Do you write for a print or online publication that would like to share information about the tour and event details as they happen? Contact us for interviews or connect us with your friends who do. We want as many folks as possible to find out about this tour and why we feel POC Zine Project is vital to DIY/punk/zine/activism communities.
5. Reblog this post and share the link with your friends!
